Synopsis

Andres Sööt, the grand old man of Estonian documentary, started filmmaking back in the mid 1960s. His filmography contains more than 70 films that he directed, plus numerous works as an operator and cinema chronicler. His immediate and objective camera work gives us an unique insight into the Soviet era and the following period of transitions. Sööt is an author who has not gone along with the hollow propaganda of his era and has stayed true to his own vision of documentaries.

Films by Sööt are like wine that only gets better in time. Watching his films is an experience that will widen the senses of even the younger generations.

A Dream
Unenägu
Synopsis

Early in the summer of 1977 a musical fiction film called "The Wonderstory" was filmed in Tartu. Despite all frames being documentary, "A Dream" does not neccessarily showcase documentary. It's not a reportage of the filmmaking, rather a vision, an echo that has vanished, but has still existed.
