Synopsis

The first of the National Competitions features films that look at the beginnings of modern Estonia and how it deals with the complexity of its past and how it tries to navigate a bright future. But there’s also a focus on people as they evolve within an ever complicated world that creates tension between being part of a group and being individuals. Estonia may be a small country but it’s no less rich, diverse and challenged than any other place on the planet.
