Synopsis

When an encounter at her school reunion ends in a non-consensual sexual encounter, Janne’s immediate response is to use the same rationale that has driven much of her adult life: „You don’t have any problems, if you don’t let anything become a problem.” But her deafening silence soon creates rifts between her and her partner, family, and co-workers that threaten to destroy the personal and professional relationships she’s worked so hard to maintain. With a mesmerizing performance by Aenne Schwarz, debut filmmaker Eva Trobisch has crafted a nuanced, yet powerful portrait of a woman who refuses to be defined as a victim. An astonishingly complex film that has won prizes in Munich, Locarno and at The Hamptons.
