Synopsis

Two characters are stuck in time in Francesco Rizzi's debut: A woman, bereft of the love of her life, a man burdened by unbearable guilt. Both characters are unable to come to terms with their inner world, so they prefer to live only their outside, their shifting public personas. Living in lies they are, stuck in outward routines. The man - Michael - is a lonely guy, constantly in motion. He travels through Switzerland, creating new identities and incognito evaluating the quality of customer service in shops and hotel rooms. At night, he is secretly observing the life of the woman: Anna. Soon they get to know each other, but the fragile balance between them is about to be destroyed when Anna finds out about Michael’s dark secret.

The title of Rizzis film refers to anxiety of the passage of time. But this outstanding debut refuses to bathe in gloom, instead choosing somehow playful, highly original and unexpected paths, with evocative imagery and a development, that keeps the viewer constantly guessing about the next social camouflage ahead. The outstandingly complex characters are excellently played by Sabine Timoteo and Vinicio Marchioni.
