Synopsis

Hothead drinker Eli (John C. Reilly) and thoughtful romantic Charlie (Joaquin Phoenix) are definitely not sisters. Unstoppable outlaw brothers inherited ridiculous surname from hated father and work for scarily notorious boss The Commodore (blink and you will miss a cameo by legendary Rutger Hauer) to hunt various traitors and thieves. Fearless, cynical and violent cowboys pursue inventive gold-digger Hermann (Riz Ahmed), who already convinced mercenary detective John Morris (Jake Gyllenhaal) to help him in one peculiar experiment.

Jacques Audiard („A Prophet”) follows the Palme d’Or winning „Dheepan” with unconventional, smart, captivating western, which received the Silver Lion for Best Direction at Venice IFF. The American West is efficiently recreated in Romania with vigorous shootouts, awesome chases on horses, brutal encounter with bear, painful traps, soul-searching moments and cheerful jokes.
