Synopsis

Romy Schneider: An icon of cinema, loved by many, judged too often. The Austrian born star never felt quite at home in Austria or Germany, where she was offered only roles to maintain her image of an eternal princess. In France, she reinvented herself, and kept fighting her inner demons. Emily Atef, the director of „3 Days in Quiberon”, focuses on pivotal point in her life: an interview, when a cocky reporter and Schneider’s favourite photographer headed to France in 1981 to meet the uber-actress in a rare chance for the German press to speak to her. An actual interview by Michael Jürgs and black-and-white photos by Robert Lebeck form the basis of this film that captures the special atmosphere of these three days in which Schneider bares her soul.
